The first stop of the yatra was Gahpura where the group paid homage at the statue of Kanak lata and remembered her. Kanak lata was a brave freedom fighter who was killed in 1942 by the British while hosting national flag at the police station during independence struggle. In the next stoppage, a public meeting was organised by Kokila Vikas Asharam, Gohuparu. Mr. Harish Bhatt, founder of the Asharam shared that the Asharam is working especially on women empowerment in about 50 villages in the area. They are also giving training on cottage industries for economic empowerment in addition to awareness building. He gave assurance that members of women group will participate in the Jan Satyagraha. Shri Bakul Bhai of Aamar Banani Sanstha said that they are educating children and villagers on environmental and education and their plantation work is very popular. 30000 multipurpose trees have been planted until now. Samwad yatris (members of Yatra) also planted saplings.
